  • @ChadMaestrodotcom - I have practiced Aikido since 1990. I have been to Japan and I can honestly say the most impressive school was Steven Seagal's dojo in Osaka. You know the whole Aikido world doesn't revolve around Osensei. Just because he founded it doesn't mean to say he will always be superior to everyone for eternity. Have you ever heard of the term emulate success. I bet the only thing you know about Osensei is from what you have read from a book.

I havent done Aikido for years but I would love to get in a ring with him. just so i could say i have tho.

  • All these bad opinions of Sensei Segal and yet none of you would ever get in the ring with him I bet,lol

  • I don't care what anyone says but this guy is one of the best an In this video he is demonstrating different ways to defend yourself not that he needs to tell them where to attack ..because if he doesn't we would not see what just happened because he's to quick therefore how would we learn dumb asses sometimes people talk shit regardless if they know or dont know I just dont get it anyone could be just as successful as Steve but you got to train for real fights thats y he's hard on his students

  • This man is a joke, he seems to have missed the main philosophise behind his traditional art and is only obsessed with constantly boosting his ego. I have never known a man so in love with himself; he literally thinks he is a god (those were his own words from a tv interview). he needs to come bake down to earth and learn the lesson of humility and respect for other human beings.

  • Any good student should surpass their teacher and if not then they weren't a very good student nor did they have the necessary discipline to explore beyond the initial limits set by their teacher whilst mentoring hence further teachings where the student only learned what a teacher taught and nothing else further is learned on their own ensures mediocrity in future students as knowledge is handed down as a student become the teacher.

  • Ever thought there is no such thing as a Master? We all continue to learn every day. I'm sure Steve would be the first to agree with what I'm saying and he learns every day and that's what makes him a "student of life" rather "all-powerful Master" that everyone makes sensei's of any discipline or trade out to be. I'm sure Steve still remembers getting his ass thrown around the dojo while learning from mentors too. Go wander around the farmlands of Asia if you're looking for a "student of life".

  • I don't care what "dan" you are, anyone can get sucker punched. Just ask Segal about Gene Labell.

  • @R7pl

He was explaining positions to attack and where to attack and saying the guy to do the same again and higher. ( when he was kicking )
