Of all the different versions of Dianne singing this song, this one has the FUNKIEST Bass!!! The vocal take is fluent and hypnotic - a great moment in time captured. One of my all-time favorite recordings!

Hi @charvinaldo! Apologies for not seeing this sooner. I know that Abbey Lincoln originally sang the "Afro Blue" lyrics in her "Abbey is Blue" release from the late 1950's -- a solid album, BTW. I will have to find my liner notes of Lincoln's album to be sure, but I believe Oscar Brown, Jr. wrote the lyrics...
