When I say Cole couldn't pass to stay competitive, I mean if the other team was scoring just as often as Cedar Hill. Just wanted to make that clear.
The rest of the team wasn't a strong as Cole and that would have cost them against Katy. Jeff Welch was a great QB and Shane Turner was a great running back, and Welch's receivers like Holland were really athletic. Y'all had a great team that year. Too bad Katy's D played so soft. I hadn't seen such weak tackling from the team all season.

I still think Katy would have beat Cedar Hill in the finals. Will Cole couldn't throw consistently enough to keep a game competitive. He'd just take off as soon as Falls' d-line got blasted off the LOS. Katy's run defense was great all year in 2006. If all we had to focus on was containing Cole and swatting down dead-duck passes once a set of downs we would have done great. Falls was able to spread Katy out and we had trouble matching up one-on-one with the Eagles. Spread teams mess with Katy.
