Though seemingly making the same "synthesizer transition" that many of his contemporaries were doing in the mid-1980's, this underrated score still maintains the melodic beauty of most of Barry's other orchestral works. @victoriaindigo That's a great observation, victoriaindigo. FATAL ATTRACTION's score was actually composed by Maurice Jarre, but does share a similarly ambient synth/piano sound. However, classically orchestral composers like John Barry, Maurice Jarre, Jerry Goldsmith, et al, seemingly went through a transitional period in the mid-80's when shifting to largely or wholly synthesized scores. It makes total sense that you might think JAGGED EDGE and FATAL ATTRACTION were the same composer.

A beautiful but underated score, the maestro could score any type of movie,he had the knack,he is sadly missed.

@swr2777 John Barry won the Oscar for Out of Africa over Maurice Jarre's Witness in 86. These are 2 of my favorite scores!

And proving your point Witness has that 80's synthesize sound as well. Barry and Jarre were masters at keeping their originality even while being "current" with the trends.
