One scumbag who lives off this stuff is John D. Krisor. He is a real degenerate piece of garbage.

If you do a bankruptcy I suggest a chapter 13 rather than a chapter 7

After some research I understand that Portfolio Recovery Associates are the lowest of the low, guilty of committing blatant fraud and theft, making illegal threats and trying to thieve from innocent, hard-working families. Now I see their involvement in a disgusting scam where AT&T customers are charged illegal fees just for answering their phone number. They're crapped-stained thieves performing fraud & theft. They should all be in jail.

statute of limitations; each state has one and that is why the debt colletor will do anything to get even a small payment to keep that statute of limitations window open.

ever heard of UCB? (united collection bureau?)
they keep calling my grandmother, they called me a deadbeat and had the poor woman convinced i was going to jail. they're so rude to me, they threaten to garnish my wages and tell me that i had better get a lawyer. i wonder, when they go through training are they given scripts to go by?
The FDCPA is clear that any debt owed and any fees and charges are bound by the contract you originally signed with the crditor which usually includes language regarding collection and state laws on fees.
