  • The dancer is Nicolas Enguyen, now a married man with children, having retired from the stage. Were you perhaps fooled by the wig?

  • These baroque dance clips are awesome!! Thank you for sharing these. I have a question for you.....Do you know how detailed the original manuscripts were? Do the dancers have to "fill in" gaps or improvise much ??Again, thanks for sharing these.

  • You're very welcome! The original manuscripts described very precise steps; the arm movements were 'improvised' according to certain codes of use of that period. Perhaps it would be instructive to post a video explaining the use of the original diagrams. They are fascinating!

  • Puta mierda de video, casi me saltan los ojos y sale un virus por mi culo

  • il est fabuleux...

  • Won-der-ful.

I believe the dictionary cannot find the best words to describe what do I mean when all my being screams "Splendid!"

  • Je ne pense pas que vous pensiez.

  • On the whole too few ornaments, I think.

  • So beautiful and elegant!! Damn, judging by this Louis XIV must've been a pretty good dancer! o_O

  • He should be considered a standard by which to judge other male baroque dansers. The bravura, stance, posture, intricate movements, power in combination with his refined performace I have yet to find an equal to. He indeed becomes the young Apollo, inspiring awe to his 17th century audience with his otherworldly grace.

  • I like the "pettycoat" britches.

  • A very good performance of this very difficult solo. Would the dancer have been masked in the original performance in the Baroque period?
