  • Alfred doesn't have it compressed, it is uncompressed audio that makes to go way faster than when it is compressing audio files. Check your import settings in you preferences and change it to "AIFF" encoder then try importing. It should go way faster than 3.0 when you do this.

  • mine is only 3.0

how do i speed it up???

  • Al, after doing the same test with a 5 Minute Song, my Internal Mac Mini drive ripped it in 15 Seconds. So my Internal was almost as fast as your external. :-)

  • That's Smokin' Fast Al. Did a Test. Mac Mini Intel Core 2 Duo. LaCie Firewire DVD-RW d2 External.

One Five Minute Song takes One Minute & Forty Five Seconds to rip. Fastest Rip Speed 7.6 X. So yes, I don't know what you feeding your Mac Mini or CD Writer but that's Lightning Speed. Wheaties!!!

  • The less compression It has to do, the quicker it imports. I use ALAC and I usually get close to those speeds. If you straight copy the data without transcoding it (say into AIFF or WAV) you get even better speeds.

  • it's over 9000x !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Yes, I buy my CD's" lol

  • doodee
