  • thats the bass strings what about the others

  • I have posted a tutorial for the intro. I will do the verse next time.

  • hi what picking pattern are you using please

  • This is alternating bass pattern, if you watch the thumb, it keeps a steady swing between the bass strings ie. on the C chord you pluck 5 string 4 string 6 string 4 string on G pluck 6 string 4 string 6 string 4 string, I will put up a slowed down version for you by Saturday night.

  • yup, that's the kind of video i looked for. thank you very much... as far as i'm done with the stuff learning right now, i'll let you know about my level of improvement. added to favorites!

  • Thanks fogroopa, The one thing I would say is practice then practice and practice some more. It might take months to get your first fingerpicking tune down, especially Alternating bass style, but hopefully the next gets a bit easier.

  • Nice playing and good sounding " Hummingbird ".

  • Posted my own version as a video response. It's good that guys like you are helping others to learn to pick. You'll struggle to see my picking style, I'm afraid, with my fat fingers and the fact that I pick with fingers 2, 3 & 4 while my index finger just points at the ground (due to accident as a kid) hah! Anyway thanks

  • awesome :D

  • this is great!!..thanks for this post.. it's exactly what i needed.. I've been playing this song for a while now..but not playing it the right way....i'll be sure to get it right now :)

  • thanks alot for this, was taking me ages to switch my fingers arund - then i had a good look at what your fingers are doing, and thats made it alot easier for transitions!!!

could you a slow motion version sometime???
