Is Chanukah a sad time of year? We may have won the battle, but we lost the war. The Greeks weren't trying to destroy the Jews, they were trying to destroy Judaism. This week Lori dives into this deeper idea.

  • Here's something I would like to have more understanding in. You mention giving your life to remain Torah observant the way they did, however isn't the current teaching that you don't give your life because it's more pertinent to set aside mitzvot of Torah if your life is at stake? Why did this teaching, which obviously wasn't told to those women who were killed along with their infants for having a bris, not exist then?

  • Although I am Vietnamese, etc, I really enjoy your videos about holidays and celebrations or others. Even If I don't celebrate them. I am going to like this video.

  • I am hearing it's an additional Sukkot if circumstances caused you to miss it.

This was Matiyahu's the high priests decision at the time .

We should just follow the Tanakh by it's schedule .we don't need a winter solstice observance like the pagans.

  • Terrific and true. We take too much for granted and we just might loss everything. Happy Hanukah

  • G0d Bless!
