@john2pimp they're not supposed to do that. To tell you the truth, high school debaters shouldnt even make eye contact. I think theyre doing it now only because there is an audience. There usually isnt one

not to be rude, but why dont they add some hand gestures or some more passion? are they not allowed to do that? why not add more emphasis or some more emotion in the tone of voice? im not trying to be rude, just wondering.

@MissusNorris a flow chart is what you use to keep track of what the other team or your team is saying so when your speaking you know what to refute or expand on. It's just like taking notes. Most flow charts have five sections. First prop first opp second and third prop are the same column and u separate it in half yourself then third opp and third prop you leave whatever position your speakings category blank and record what each of the speakers are saying and their points as best as you can
