This is the first in my visual effects tutorial series in which i take 3-5 effects shots from films and recreate them with a zero dollar budget. In the first series (first 3 episodes) ill be focusing on recreating effects from the film Scott pilgrim vs the world. I recreated this 3 effects in a few hours, and ill show you how i did it.

Q: Hi I was wondering how you made that thunderbolt shape just from a white solid on After Effects? I'm just confused what tool to use to make my own shapes in a solid. This is the only thing holding my video back. I would appreciate the help. Thanks

A: sure, you make the white solid then use the pen tool and make the shape, this will cut out the shape from the white solid.
