Fraser River Pink Salmon only return in odd numbered years. Fraser River Pink Salmon return by the millions. These fish are easy to catch on simple gear and provide a good day's fishing to any angler. That being said, I think they are poor fighters and mediocre table fare. Pink salmon are an excellent source of good quality salmon roe. Filmed in 1080... broadcasted in 720 because of Youtube's 2gb limit.

So true, positives are good roe for coho and the downside is the left over fish lol.

I can taste the dressed pink!!! Thanks for sharing and the reminder about landing nets ... I do not have a catch and release net at all. Cant wait to see the fish smoking video and your Coho catches to come! Cheers!

@phr1sk37 I won't have time to film a salmon smoking episode. It will take me too much time which I do not have of right now due to professional reasons. I dry brine mine in a mixture of 3 cups brown sugar to 1 cup coarse salt, then smoke until done. I may do a video on smoked chum salmon come November. Stay tuned.

@liquidz604 I put the fish and brine in the fridge overnight, sometimes longer. some people make more complicated brines, i dont. i prefer the flavour of the salt, fish, sugar and smoke to be the focus. some add ginger, garlic, cayene, pepper etc. also some baste with maple syup for a sweeter glaze. Cameras I use are a Sanyo Xacti VPC-cg21 and a GoPro Hero HD.
