Although this version reached #2 on the Billboard singles chart, it still seems very forgotten compared to Marvin Gaye's version.

  • Is this "Hollywood Palace"? It looks like the set.

  • @artistmac Yes it is.

  • Glady Knight is under appreciated. That voice is unmistakable. She was a huge talent in the 60-70's.

  • @gcpropertymanagement I couldn't agree more! Gladys night did not get the notice and appreciation she deserved. Hers was a great voice. Don't know if she intentionally took time off or what, but I'm enjoying just listening to all their old stuff.

  • they recorded it first in 1967

  • This was back when AM radio ruled and all music but latino, classical and country was played in the 'Top 40s' rotation.

Music wasn't segregated into genres back and we all knew music from all cross sections of society. R&B and rock thrived side by side and rap had yet to divide the entire listening audience of the USA.

  • Empress......sing your song! Pips do your thing! They were the absolute best!!!!
