TTC 5421-5426 are seen entering service from the tailtracks at Finch station. These cars will replace the entire H-series over a span of a couple years.

The new cars are built by Bombardier, and shipped to Wilson division by truck.

The tailtracks at Finch Station are to be extended to Cummer within the next few years, which will then later be used by the Yonge subway extension.

  • Hey there, dyip90, did you miss the H4 subway cars? Well, if you missed your final ride, you're out of luck, the final H4 subway cars were retired on January 27, 2012, were you there at Kennedy station on that day? Well I was there to enjoy my final ride.

  • @AlexRampaul No, I wasn't there. My mornings consist of commutes to school via the Yonge line, and I was never a big fan of the H4s anyways.

  • @dyip90 Are these New TTC Subway Cars gonna Be on All Stations In Toronto Because Recently this Week, I Visited George Station but I Didn't See the New Trains.

  • @pegasusmon25 The new subway trains are entering service on the Yonge-University-Spadina line only. Since there's only three trains in service, I wouldn't be surprised that the majority of trains you've seen are not the new ones.

The Bloor-Danforth and Sheppard lines will not receive these trains because they do not require the capacity boost the TTC hopes these trains will be able to give.

  • Once these new trainsets are delivered dyip90, all Y-U-S trains will be TR's while the Bloor-Danforth and Sheppard lines will all be T1 trains only is that true?

  • @dyip90 There's now a handful of new Toronto Rocket (TR) trains in service now since you're a regular commuter on the Y-U-S line, dyip90 have you seen 10 TR's in service? According to yyzrocketman25, at one point they had all 12 TR's in service during the rush hour during the week, during the weekends they don't have as many of them on the line for the time being as they only have up to 3 to 5 TR's in service now is that true dyip90 since the TTC operates on reduced service?

  • Hey there dyip90, I have noticed that the TR's horn is a computerized horn as with the T1's do, I know that all subway trains have horns, the H-series uses a regular horn, I know the TTC buses have horns too, how about TTC streetcars, I know that they have the gong, and is it true that streetcars can honk as well?

  • @dyip90 If you like to see the videos which I posted on the last-ever H4 subway ride on January 27, 2012, check out my YouTube channel. Or type in the search box "Final day of revenue service for TTC's oldest H4 subway train".

  • @dyip90 The H4's were ugly and looked really old and were the oldest subway cars not to provide air conidtioning over the summer months, thankfully that those cars are gone.
