A high definition video of the opening title sequence to critically acclaimed TV series 'Mad Men.' This opening is from the premier episode of the series. The music in the sequence is a TV edit of "A Beautiful Mine," a tune performed by artists Aceyalone and RJD2. The track is composed by Edwin M. Hayes and Ramble John Krohn. This track is available on the Mad Men - Music from the Series Vol. 1. A remix of this track is available on Mad Men - Music from the Series Vol. 2, composed again by Hayes and Krohn, and is performed by Jim Jacobsen.
The character depicted in the sequence is the silhouette of Donald Francis Draper (played by Jon Hamm), creative director of advertising at agency Sterling Cooper. The show is set in New York City in the 1960s.
Mad Men is the creation of screenwriter Matthew Weiner. So far Mad Men has completed 2 Emmy Award winning seasons and is currently in progress with the third season. Weiner has worked on other TV series such as the popular mafia drama 'The Sopranos.'
You can catch the latest episodes of Mad Men every Sunday at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time on AMC TV. Each new episode is always followed up directly with an encore presentation at 11:00 p.m. Eastern. AMC TV also frequently airs re-runs of the current season for any Mad Men viewer to catch up with the show.
Mad Men is also broadcasted on other channels such as the BBC.

It's about a lot of these characters who work at an advertising agency in 1960's Manhattan and how many of them lead secret lives or have other sorts of reservations about their life in the show.

Just going through season 5 again on Netflix, and I forgot just how fantastic that season was. I really feel like the show gets better with each season because each one adds new depth to the characters that make them more interesting. We become more invested in them based on what we already know about them, giving Weiner & Co. more flexibility in how they can tell their stories. Just a brilliant show and one of the best I've ever seen.
