@Endallbealllsx how is brining something back the cuts down on pollution electric powered vehicles cut down on pollution and thus Global Warming make more roads would cause more pollution
-
@ilikenintendo2005 Either joking or trolling is my guess.
-
@Endallbealllsx Are you joking?! Minneapolis NEEDS more public transportation then what it has! It needs to reduce car usage! Global warming is a very minor problem right now but the world is being destroyed by more makings of roads. And, it's better for the environment by far! Electric trollies would be amazing to have! San Francisco has them and other cities are starting to bring them back as well.

Lightrail is a waste of tax dollars!!! fix the roads instead. Global warming is a farce why go back in time, to traveling on trains. Maybe we should bring back electric trollies. STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice opening shots on the N. 5th St. extension to Target Field. That part's only been open for about six weeks now. And good takes at Lindbergh Terminal and on the viaduct over hwy. 62.
Very nice looking lightrail!

Looks like there is quite a bit of street running (tracks embedded in pavement). How does Metro Transit handle deep snow on the right-of-way and keep ice buildup from fouling flange-ways during the harsh winter weather?

@oubrioko From what I have seen the trains clear most of the snow on the tracks enough so the wheels don't get jammed. If plowing is necessary they may plow some of the right of way while keeping connected with the control center. For ice buildup I'm not sure how it's dealt with but so far it hasn't been an issue that I'm aware of. Each train is also equipped with sand which can be dropped on the tracks if there's a loss of traction due to ice or rain.
