hi all, my name is Ramon and i want to share with you this new video which is a fast sketch to make a portrait in a classic style.
I use to make portraits in real life using the old techniques or "academic" tecniques.Charcoals are great to make expressive portraits. I have enjoyed doing this althoug i was very tired while i was doing it.

In this picture i have used the presets:
Charcoal
Pencil Shades
Eraser

hope you like it.Crits and comments are welcome

  • By Ramon you mean Ramon Miranda? The GPS guy? Because I think I recognize those brushes you are using.

Either way, your drawing rules. And so do those brushes.

  • @unabomberman Hi, yes I am the GPS guy. i have developed lot of brushes for mypaint, actually 60.and we are only limited by our imagination (lot of parameters ).

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Fabulous work! WOW!

  • Awsome video :) Love the music too.

  • I like the lighting! Keept them comming!

  • @extremophile thanks for your comment, you are right. it deppends of your money, what to choose. i would like to have a wacom intuos4. but for now bamboo fun is ok for me.

  • The wacom bamboo tablet line can cost as low as 50 bucks (at least in the US). Some other brands have a long-term cost in batteries for the pen too. But I don't know. The bamboo line of course hasn't all the features of the ones that are specially suited for drawing and painting, and they have only the half of the pressure sensivity of the Genius' model. However, I've heard it's equivalent to the old "graphire" model, which was recommended by artists over non-wacom alternatives anyway.

  • Yes..ill go for the wacom then...thank you

  • I think Wacom tablets are the best choice, but they are expensive so if you want to practice and have no to much money you can get a Genius tablet. MOzart Couto uses one and he is a good painter.

But i recommend Wacom, no doubt
