  • change video codec's and run te video in WMP11 or WMP12

  • how do you install windows xp on one of these things because they don't have a disc drive so do we make it run through the usb device?

  • through the usb device or image from the HDD. Also you can connet optical drive by the USB

  • couldn't tell much difference, but that asus screen sits too high! I hated that look when I bought mine so I sold in on craigslist!!

Do you have to tweak your system to make it run 1080p or 720p? mine's a little sluggish when running 720p..

  • maybe you should do a format of hard drive and instal new copy of windows:P

  • The samsung one seems to perform slightly better

  • @lukasrz1984 why cant i run 1080p and i have a powerfull machine ? more powerfull than this

  • Yes, tweaking is neccessary. So too is installing alternative software to achieve (unlike the video above) smooth playback of 1080p content, the standard stuff just isn't up to the job. Uneccessary "helpers"/auto-updaters which run at boot should also be prevented from starting (you just have to remember to check for updates for those applications manually!).

Take a look at my video: watch?v=h42cm6gI25k

  • Indeed, video greater than 720p is wasted on a 1024x600 screen but it is STILL obviously and quite evidently much better quality than say a DVD. Being able to play 1080p content on something like a netbook comes into its own when you connect it up to a nice HD TV. With absolutely smooth playback (which, unlike above, is achievable with the right codecs/software/tweaks) the NC10 (and other netbooks) really show what a underestimated and under-marketed processor the Atom is.

  • To be fair my laptop struggles with 1080p so I think they did pretty good. Not sure about the Asus but the Samsungs screen is 1024x600, so any more than 720p would be wasted anyway.

  • yeah i did it yesterday, first time worked well, you just need a 2gb usb, "Youtube(dot)com/watch?v=2Vt_8p0VllY"

I have an asus 1000h so it should work if u have a asus 1000h
