i think they'd do just fine without petroleum.
they have something very important, that this culture doesn't promote...community.

The amish people do use money and before the government medaling by the Roosevelt administration they actually used a gold back currency. Also the amish use petroleum for their milking machinery and even making their buggy whips and other items.
-
that is *exactly* what i would like to avoid. people's dependence on money is *way* more dangerous than anyone wants to admit.
what planet do you propose we start getting our resources from? Earth is a finite planet, no matter how many people treat it as an infinite one.
amish folks *do* live sustainably.

Who knows maybe "civilizations" aim should be that of the Amish or Mennonites.

Well after the collapse happens I hope that people will not turn toward the government in desperation :\, hopefully we can turn this around and go back to a free market economy. I want us to still have the tools in order to build civilization back up, I don't want the government intervening telling us how much we can consume, what kind of cars we can drive, etc. What I see happening in the US is similar to what happened during the weimar republic, I pray we don't turn toward national socialism

i don't think that operating a petroleum burning engine is a very sane, or responsible thing to do.
what would you like to see happen? i'm really curious, now. it seems (to me) that you view "primitivism" in a negative light...

Peak oil is a lie, they want to consolidate the oil just like they did the gold :(. Remember when Roosevelt confiscated the gold under Executive Order 6102. These globalist clowns don't want us to have any wealth, no land, no gold, no oil. They want us to go back to primitivism while they live in the lap of luxury. Thats just my take on it.

those douche-bags want everyone to live in cities, in pack-and-stack housing; making it easy to monitor and police the "taxpayers."
this is, however, the complete and total opposite of sustainable. the word "sustainable" is ALWAYS blatantly misused, in this culture.
for example...a gasoline burning car can NEVER be sustainable, yet many auto manufacturers use it in their commercials.
i think for myself. i don't care if evelyn deRothschild, himself promotes the book, i dig it.
... where's the response...????
