Some products from China are only of poor quality because corporations give them specifications on how to make the product the cheapest way.
If companies wanted to get a product to be made well with good material, they have to pay more.
It's not China's fault for a cheaply made product.

No, this camera just annoyed me too much by using up a pair of batteries that were worth more than the camera itself!

A co-worker had one of those. He was showing it off like he had something. When I looked at the resulting captures, I laughed. This was in 2001 however, but I remember those cameras well.
I hope this camera isn't a currently sold item. :-)

Yes, for some years there was novelty in simply being able to take photos without film, regardless of how poor the quality was. And to be honest, cheapo 110 film cameras took horrible photos as well.
