This Information Sharing Strategy provides a common vision to synchronize information sharing initiatives and investments throughout the Department. Sharing of information is an increasingly important element of Departmental mission success. It is imperative to effectively exchange information among components, Federal agencies, coalition partners, foreign governments and international organizations as a critical element of our efforts to defend the nation and execute national strategy. Through this Strategy, the Department will achieve improved unity of effort, a reduction in decision time, increased adaptability of forces, improved situational awareness, and greater precision in mission planning and execution.

The Department of Defense (DoD) requires innovations to enhance information sharing across the Department and with external partners. The evolving United States national security environment necessitates an improvement to the Department‟s ability to effectively and securely share information. Multiple national and departmental strategies affect information flow and accessibility, limiting the ability to leverage information as a strategic asset in achieving the Department‟s mission. Further, current events have diverse and global-reaching impacts, drawing the DoD into operations with diverse and unanticipated partners.

The DoD Information Sharing Strategy establishes the vision and goals for information sharing, while paving the
way for a more detailed initiative to document the implementing actions necessary to achieve these goals and
realize the vision.

  • Absolutely not! A centralized system means ease of control over information! Additionally, a centralized form will be much slower than what we have. Decentralized is the way to go - as long as you have a good search engine.

The Internet is growing at amazing speeds every day - that is not a bad thing. :)

  • Attack the centre...

  • with the plans i've heard for the future that picture at the end scares the fuck out of me and makes me not want to have children but i am strong i will withold my hope with all other human beings to start thinking start seing through the lies one key for freedom if you ever get asked to get a chip planted in you denie it and get mad we are human beings are life has value Zeitgeist has all the truth think about it

  • An old idea.... The idea of a "central element" has been around for several decades. Look at the design for Link-16. Look also at the notion of a broker raised by the USAF in the late 1990's ... called Joint Battlespace Infosphere. (It even has the spherical reference illustrated here.)

The video has a nice graphic, but explains nothing about how to "build it"... but the old ideas listed above do explain things.
