This is a very beautiful kata with great speed and power. The only thing I don't like about tournament kata is the need to pose for the judges. Each pause is accentuated to show off the strength and balance of the stances (and the correct positions), but the pauses sacrifice the fluidity of the kata. The energy just doesn't seem to flow as well.

I like watching kata videos of Wakai. She has the focus and the intensity she brings to the floor.

@chicagofrank10 - "The Okinawans beat down Samurai with oars". Do you actually believe that? It may be that Musashi Miyamoto managed to beat one samurai challenger with an oar but I'm having trouble seeing average Okinawans taking on trained warriors and managing to defeat them. Love to be corrected though.

Now that's a Seipai that I like. Soft & hard, fast & slow, strong stances, looking like a conflict.
The facial expressions are great too and would certainly have me doing the dishes & cleaning the house without any back chat if I were her husband. ;-)

Nice Japanese version of Okinawan kata.I have no comment on her kata other than it looked very contrived and mechanical. The last move is a throw ,however in this tournament age of egos we lose track of the real tradition of Okinawan karate.Remember this The Okinawans beat down Samurai with oars, there was no beauty only pain and death.
