A song from 1986 and possibly still available on "Kihnsolidation - The Best Of Greg Kihn"? I`m not sure how many of the wonderful Greg Kihn Band albums have been re-issued in CD format. They all should be!
On a sad note RIP Dave Carpender. Greg Kihn Band`s brilliant lead guitarist from the early days. His playing always had a wonderful feel and sense of joy and fun to it. Sadly Dave Carpender`s gone but the beauty of his music lives in the recordings. The wonderful recordings.
I would like to add that this particular clip has stayed on YouTube by the good grace of Mr Greg Kihn. I thank him for allowing it to stay and suggest that anyone interested should check out the official Greg Kihn CDs and DVDs via the following sites. I bought the DVD with all the music clips plus a wonderful full concert performance recorded at "The Country Club" in 1981. It Rocks! Thanks

  • Hey, just wondering...do you have their cover of Another Girl, Another Planet that appears on this album?

  • @DaisyBrownEyes No I don`t but I wish that I did!

  • When this came out, I kept it in heavy rotation on the dj table and it consistently had all the chicks in the bar on the floor instantly singing along to every word. Had it been released a couple years earlier it would definately been a hit song and an 80's classic today. Just a matter of timing. By the time this came out we were already into the era of glam metal and Yo! Mtv Raps. It was just a matter of the music landscape begining to change. Great song. thanks for posting it!

  • @splashsaturn Thanks for taking the time to comment. When I first posted this clip (purely as a fan trying to promote Greg`s great music) the fella who checks YT for unauthorized uploads got in touch and suggested that I should take it down. When I explained that I was a fan and was only hoping to promote Greg`s wonderful back catalogue Greg very graciously allowed the clip to stay up. Great musician, great bloke!

  • Did anyone notice a young Joe Satriani on guitar?

  • I certainly didn`t notice Joe Satriani. Thanks for pointing it out. I had no idea Joe Satriani played with Greg Kihn way back when.

  • @splashsaturn i could not believe this was NOT a big hit For Greg Kihn either,Yep by 1986 we were going into that glam metal/hip hop stuff.,a shame,The early 80's were better

  • @Mouldytone I was looking for him on guitar when this video came up... "young" LOL...he was 30 here.

  • I hadn't heard this song in probably 2 decades. No idea this was Greg Kihn back then. Thanks for posting!

  • Artie Lange on bass!

  • Excellent performance with Joe for dessert--sweeet

  • Greg Kihn used to a great song called "Small Change" when he was playing small clubs in San Francisco like the Stone, The Old Waldorf, once he started doing well, he refused to do it, but it was and still is a cool song. Look for it on his old albums.
