I look down upon DaLiar lama.

He should not had fled from Tibet 50 years ago. If he was the leader of tibet, he should acted as a sea captain, who never abandon his ship even the ship sinks. What a shame!!!

Dalai Lama, his exile organization, and his adherents cannot make decision over tibet. They have live abroad too long time. Some of them were not born in tibet China. As foreigners, they don't know much about today's tibet at all.

Tibet was practically a theocratic slavery society before liberation - a fact that most scholars won't deny. About 95% of Tibetan population was subject/slave to various monasteries; they can be traded, their children remain slave. a woman is worth only a piece of rope according to a Tibetan value book on slaves. If you call China's abolition of old Tibetan theocratic slavery "Culture genocide", then China can equally call US's abolition of black slavery "Culture genocide".

You can go ahead and warship DaLiar Lama. And that cannot stop me looking down upon his so-called "holiness".

Dalai Lama has exiled himself almost 50 years. He is getting old and his feet almost step to the grave. He could not be "Long Live" as exile tibetans shout out. I think this is his last desperate fight and he knows his sad destiny. AMEN!

I really don't care if someon boycotts Olympics or not. It's your loss if you don't come. And your hips and joints will be four years older until the next game.

Dalai Lama and his supporters kidnap Olympic Games.Tibetans become the most disgraceful ethnic in the world.

Pretty soon, the Muslim terrorists are going to get jealous, losing their prime front page real-estate. Damn Tibetans! LOL...

Dalai's 'rule of terror' remarks refuted

High-ranking Tibetan officials refuted Dalai Lama's "cultural genocide" and "terror rule" remarks on Sunday and said such arguments were a tale of a tub and "downright nonsense".

Dalai cited the "rule of terror" and "cultural genocide" in its latest separatist remarks after the Lhasa riot, according to media reports.

Legqoi, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Tibetan Regional People's Congress, said that "'the rule of terror in Tibet', as Dalai claimed, was downright nonsense."

"The concept of 'citizen' didn't even exist in the old Tibet," Legquoi said. "Under the serfdom rule, slaves had nothing and were traded by their owners. They suffered all kinds of excruciating tortures."

"The Tibetan people only started to manage their own affairs after the regional autonomy was inaugurated in 1965," Legquoi said.

He said the Tibetan culture has thrived, quite contrary to the so called "cultural genocide".

"There were 161 cultural sites in Tibet, including 35 on the list of state-level protection. We have 1,700 well-protected temples. Monks and the public enjoy full religious freedom," Legquoi said.

"Should the Dalai separatists group not spoil (the stability in Tibet), Tibet would be in its best period of development in history," said Lhasa Mayor Doje Cezhug. "Nowadays, Tibetan people have been living a modern life while enjoying the development of traditional Tibetan culture."

The Party and government has attached great importance to the cultural development of Tibet and have carried out a large scale of survey, salvage and protection for Tibet's cultural relics, said Qiangba Puncog, Tibet Autonomous Regional Government chairman.

"The state has decided to invest 570 million yuan from 2006 to 2010 to renovate 10 cultural relics sites, including the Jokhang Temple, and we can say Tibetan culture has never been so flourish as today," said the chairman.

  • ...silence on China's repeated military help at Tibet's request to fend off foreign invasion or to settle sectarian fights in Tibet, silence on CIA's role in using Dalai Lama to stir trouble and hatred in Tibet, silence in British's scheme in stealing large part of Tibet, silence, silence and silence...

  • Dalai Lama's fight against China is really a West power intervention against China, with the Dalai Lama being a proxy. You can see the eagerness of West to glorify the Dalai Lama thus to establish moral high ground and sympathy while totally ignore Dalai Lama regime's dark slavery past. You can see the West media's silence on Tibet's history before 1959, silence on Chinese historic close tie to Tibet.

  • All the sea captains know they will die with sinking ships. Did Titanic's captain flee?

  • China must be destroyed by armament of Uigurs in north of China and they must declare the Dschihad against China. If that happens all muslims will surely support them by any financial help. I think that this will happen in near future because Chinese government is supressing Uigurs, rapeing their women or ravening them for using them as prostitutes and slaves, little babies are killed every day. China must be destroyed.

  • besides, culture is an ever changing entity anyway. today's chinese is very different from chinese 50 years ago. After all tibetan buddism came from china and india and even just the name Dalai is not even from the tibetan language it's from Mongolian.

  • there are lots of different type of chinese, i'm hui muslim, and of course i'm not saying i'm the same as han or tibetans but being in the same country does not mean your culture disappears. i believe something like $50M dollar plus is spent annually restoring tibetan monastaries, palaces, etc. Don't forget Dalai Lama tried to erase the other 3 sects of tibetan buddism and tried to stop worshipping of dorje shugden.

  • woh, when japanese ruled, the chinese weren't even allowed to study politics, or any type of social sciences for that matter. Tibetans are encouraged to learn politics and become leaders. Tibetans need to learn chinese to earn a better living, which is the same reason most chinese are learning english.

  • Therefore anyone in a powerful position such as qianba, should consider this and the loss to humanity of a whole human culture before speaking. If they are happy for one culture to be swallowed up by another, by implication of their opinions they should state so explicitly, else their words become insidious tools of destruction.

  • If Tibet continues as it is there will be no Tibet. No Tibetan Buddhism, no Tibetan architecture, no Tibetan art, no Tibetan language, no Tibetan consciousness. Tibet will be culturally swallowed up by china.

  • To say there is no difference between Tibetans and Chinese is nonsense. I see the difference in the faces, in how they speak, how they live, how they write. I feel different in the company of Tibetans than I do with Chinese. I am not saying one is better than the other, I am saying each is unique and one should not be swallowed up by the other.

  • Of course qianba is "free to decide what's best for him". But he also has considerable responsibility as a spokesperson. The statements he makes affects millions. For Tibet to be part of china would be like the UK becoming part of the U.S. A culture would disappear. All human cultures have the right to exist, just as long as it is not at the detriment of another.

  • you can just call people with opposing views brain washed.. that goes against the basic principle of freedom of speech.
