@rosereddoll People are always going to find something wrong with black hair. If your hair is short it is because you're black. long: you must be mixed: & weaved: you must be baldhead. And if you want longer hair you are obsessed or you are conforming to a european standard of beauty. As if they are the only ones who can grow some long hair. It is all bullshit. But it is just another way to keep black women down about our hair. Cause supposedly it is worthless.

Why are people acting like it's only a "black" thing to want longer hair? Has anyone heard of the forum Long Hair Community? It's predominantly white! And most of those ladies are experimenting, researching and asking for tips too. There are so many long hair videos made by non black women.

We have lost a lot of traditional hair practices, so it only makes sense to experiment, document and share what works. And I've only seen girls with short damaged hair complain about the "obsession"! ^__^

I think if it becomes an obsession, it's a pride issue. I've watched videos of girls on here and most of them have a certain and similar charisma about them because of their hair. Most times if u watch a video of someone with "long" hair( at least neck or shoulder length) as oppose to someone with short hair doing a video, the attitude is a bit different. Sometimes to the point where they seem very superficial... I know ppl may not agree, but I've seen it! Your hair lenght does not define you!

@rosereddoll I agree with your comment. I see that we both have the highest rated comments. I am glad that someone is feeling where we are coming from. I just get sick of the bullcrap that is always coming at black folks about our hair. But God carries us through it all.

I agree with you. There is definitely pressure for women to have presentable hair though so I can understand why people obsess over it. I just feel just find a style that's comfortable for you and you'll be happy no matter what hair looks at. I guess it starts with loving yourself and how you look.

At the end of the day, it's just HAIR PEOPLE. And I have always had a head full of HEALTHY HAIR, relaxed AND natural, and I will cut it in a heartbeat, because it's just HAIR. Hell, when you're dead and gone, you can't take it with you. Good grief. All this talk about hair length and hair type is really shallow.
