Traumatic Brain Injury or TBI Facts from a Survivor of TBI. Traumatic Brain Injury is also known as the ' SILENT EPIDEMIC ". TBI can lead to Depression - but with GOD, you can get through anything.

Individuals who have experienced Traumatic Brain Injury are protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA ).

The ADA defines the word " disability " as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of an individual's major life activities; a record of such an impairment; or being regarded as having such an impairment. 42 U.S.C. S12102(2). Section 36.104 of the Department's ADA Title III regulation.

I received my TBI in 1995 at a SAM'S CLub. A Manager put a 52 pound Television set on a small book shelf and it fell off the Book Shelf and came crashing down on my head and neck and almost ending my life in a split second. It has altered my life for ever. I am one of the lucky ones who lived to tell about it.

Thank You and GOD BLESS YOU and if you are a TBI Victim and Survivor, I wish you all the best - unfortunately it is a ' LIFE SENTENCE ' but hang in there, join a TBI Help and Support Group - you are not alone.
