OMG i kept failing at making this because i was concentrating too much on that bloody grid texture! LMAO!
Kept thinking "wtf is he talking about??" I've been building for 5 years and i only just clicked that you were talking about snap to grid xD

Thank god for the new 'Edit axis root' feature in the build options. Now i just build half of it, link it to centred root prim, copy, flipt and voila lol.

Ethos is an amazing builder in SL. He has built a model of Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water, among other notable architectural RL landmarks. He's a perfectionist and it shows. If you are needing a realistic build in SL, you won't find better.
Ethos is also quite patient with new builders, including those of us who launch houses into the atmosphere, make them disappear into thin air, or scoot them somehow into the neighbor's lot.
Thanks, Ethos, for posting this lesson! Keep them coming.
Trying to build an octagon fighting ring, this seems like a good start but instead of being walls it has to be able to size all the way in. Withiout having the glivthing of two pims colliding. Any ideas?

As with the octagon roof, it is possible to do as flat pie shapes (triangles). I will calc the dimensions and reply no later than Tuesday night 8/4/09

Well, I am not sure EVERYBODY can build octagons now. After only 47 views the rush to build octagons will be underwhelming.
