So many singers, unknown as well as famous, have unsuccessfully sang this Irish song. I admit this is a hard song to sing but to me, this version by Eva Cassidy is perfection if ever there is perfection. I don't believe anyone can sing this song as beautifully and with as much sincere emotion as Eva.
A note I wish to add on Nov1, 2007, for those who do not know, tomorrow Nov 2, 2007 is the 11th anniversary of Eva Cassidy's death 11 years ago.

This was my mothers favourite song , It reminded her of my cousin who was killed by a train many many years ago, and i will say she would have loved this version.beautiful.
