Also, if you haven't seen Bakemonogatari or Guilty Crown, I'd suggest to do so.
I never thought I'd fall for those two at first since I don't like their genres; a bit of gore and what with various metallic gadgets and artillery, robotic stuffs (in this case Guilty Crown; first time I watched it I was like whyamiwatchingthis).
But then ding. It mysteriously clicked ;D
I'm still quite new to them myself, but I find the stories really nice and have moral points here and there to pick up.
