this is on an excellent album , called brumbeat . the song was never ever released in the uk , only in the us. it's sad because it's a brilliant song .

@loempiavreter ,,,black music is crap, they all sound the same, I cannot remember any decent no 1s by any black group, and I am being nice saying group !!!!!!
-
UK huh... think the Mods preferred the original black stars LIVE. Bands like The Action where just a replacement for the real deal. Just look at the madness that the Stax tour brought in 1966. The Motown tour etc. UK loves soul music (just look at the whole Northern Soul Movement up North of England and The Soulboy movement in the East End of London).

The Temptations most likely had the most sales in America due to the black population buying anything but certainly not in the U.K. If it was possable who do you think would pull the biggest crowd ? a group who could sing and play or five yanks standing there humming and clicking their fingers.
-
It's not just me who prefers the Temptations..compare record sales..you'll see what I mean.
Now..can we leave it at that ?
-
OK, we will leave it at that, you prefer the Temptations all singing in a line, I prefer listening to Carl Wayne, rip, with the Vikings.
-
I wonder why you deleted the 1st reply you sent to me?
I know it's a different version..you think I can't hear that?
I'm saying they spoil it by playing and singing way too fast..this was meant to be a slow emotive song..not a 100mph gallop !
I liked Carl Wayne with The Move..he is/was a good singer..
I just think this is a bad version of a great song..if you disagree..fine..leave it at that.
-
seventiesclassic, what are you on about it is a different version, anyway the Temptations just stood there clicking their fingers, at least these guys can play.
-
Way too fast..sounds like he was in a hurry to get it finished.
The Temptations would shit if they heard this.

@spacepatrolman ah...murry wilson. why is it every (or ALMOST every) pop music family has a father that drives them forward with so much maniacal force?
i often wonder what would have happened if the father had either not been there or took no interest in his sons/daughters careers?
personally i think class will tell and the kids would have been successful anyway.
but maybe i'm wrong ,i'm a huge cowsills fan. i'd love to meet sue cowsill. the voice of an angel. THE best family group ever..

Very nice--never heard this before. Carl was definitely one of the most underrated and versatile vocalists ever. Shazam was a great way to end his Move tenure on a high note (Beautiful Daughter, Don't Make My Baby Blue, Last Thing On My Mind...incredible vocals!). RIP Carl Wayne. Wish I'd heard him w. Hollies--any video of that available?
