1. anton isn't crazy, he's an artist with uncompromising vision and drug addiction that fuels his creativity but ultimately impedes his ability to succeed commercially.

2. the dandy's are fine, but with sensibilities of a pop group, they'll not likely stand the test of time -- unlike anton's music.

3. joel kicks ass.

from what i read elsewhere this is not an accurate portrayal of the band but a compilation of their wildest times over a span of years. Anton is what I'll hesitantly call a modern day Syd Barrett. They have their fingers on the pulse of life right on the edge but have the social capacity of a sevant. I just hope Anton keeps writing and does not follow the path that Syd could not turn back from. His lyrics get a bit strange on aufheben, but the music behind the lyrics is top notch.

Listening to warmed over Beatles/Stones/Love tracks is better when the lead singer/songwriter is a borderline personality/bipolar suffering sociopath akin to Jesse James with a guitar and a VERY nervous gang in back of him. Comparing BJM to the Dandy's is like comparing The Stones to the Dave Clark Five or The Stone Roses to Inspiral Carpets. I just like to see artists go nuts.
