  • Today, I woke up at 3 am and read from "Big Sur" by Kerouac, a place well known to me, about 50 minutes drive from here. Tonight I go to bed with this, images of my grandfather's home as a young man, and words as wise or errant as those read this morning.

  • I am not a religious man but Moriarty is the closest I can think of to an authentic saint. His writing can seem impenetrable but if you relax your mind and allow it to soak in gently, without worrying about 'getting it;, it is very rewarding.

  • Must be an Irish or Celtic thing too- its in the DNA somehow that depth, kindness and certainty in there being more to people and life than meets the eye- some of his kindness of thought reminds me of my Mothers spirit
