Bonifacio is credited with starting the revolution in Manila Aug, 1896. After 5 mons. he sought refuge in Cavite where he suffered his fate. Aguinaldo also started the revolution in Cavite and fought the Spaniards for 21 months before agreeing to a truce of biaknabato. From, May to Aug 1898, Aguinaldo reorganized the army and defeated the Spaniards taking 9,000 POW. He established the Malolos republic and defended it vs the Americans for over 3 years! Explains why Americans don't like him.

That's not what Teodoro Agoncillo wrote in History of Filipino People. Sorry but i'm not convince of your argument. The people who sentenced Bonifacio to death are all power hungry. Bonifacio grew up poor so he knew what it's like to be oppressed. Aguinaldo grew up rich. To hell with Aguilnaldo parin

Bonifacio mounted a counter revolution against the new Filipino government established at Tejeros, Cavite in 1897. He was arrested and court martialled. Granted there were obvious manipulations in the proceedings, Bonifacio could have contested the court's jurisdiction on the basis of persecution for his and history's sake. But he submitted himself willingly and the court martial found him guilty of treason and sentenced to be shot. That, in a nutshell, is the sad story of Bonifacio.

Aguinaldo was discredited by the Americans to lessen his chances of renewing the resistance. Many Filipinos, then and now, swallowed the propaganda, hook line and sinker.

You are not properly informed. The Mexican $400T were deposited in HSBC and Chartered Bank in HK. Aguinaldo and his staff lived on the interest. Isabelo Artacho wanted to split the money but Aguinaldo refused. At the outbreak of the 2nd phase of the revolution, part of the money was withdrawn to purchase 2,000 rifles and 200,000 rounds of ammunition. Rest of the funds were given in trust to the U.S. consul in HK, Mr. Wildman, to purchase additional arms, which failed to arrive in the Phils.
