  • do both of the screw heads have to be the same height? If not, then what is the purpose of the second screw. If so, what method do you use to get them to be the same height?

  • @m081779 The purpose of the second screw is to prevent the jig from rocking forward and backwards as you take a reading. This prevents you from potentially getting inconsistent readings. They do not have to be exactly the same height.

  • What about aligning blade lengthways so it's parallel with mitre slot? Adjust fence parallel to the slot, so all three are parallel. The dial gauge can be used here too. Fix the gauge to the mitre fence. No need for dead square to the slot, because you slacken the table mounting bolts, and move the table around the blade until dial gauge reads 0 degrees at the front of blade and back edge too.

Great jig. Thanks. I'll use my dial gauge for the vertical adjustment in future..

  • Great jig and great idea. Thanks: diyinventor(dot)com
