@MrsTor2 yeah they want to put a meijers in at 8 mile and pontiac trail and expand pontiac trail like 2 lanes. thats gonna be hard to do in downtown south lyon. haha

Gosh, this brings back the memories. My family moved to South Lyon back in 1949 when it was still called a village, and I grew up there. I moved 10 years ago to southern Missouri with my husband to another small town.
South Lyon was a wonderful farming community when I was growing up. We use to ride our horses into town and tie them up at the corner drug store (now an art gallery it looks like) and have our cherry cokes.
I miss South Lyon, but I miss how it was back when I was a kid.
