@leasingpro That is a highly honorable and magnaminous viewpoint. I truly applaud you for it. I am sympathetic to your father, it is never easy to disappoint. More than a few accidents - aviation or otherwise - have been caused by trying to go too many extra miles. You are so right, though, that it's not enough to know when to stop, you have to listen to that insight. That last part is very hard.
@jimmyxx3 Are you a fucking idiot? I found it disrespectful that the description was "ouch" shut the fuck up and stop being so insensitive and mind your own mother fucking business.
We the family of Jim see no disrespect. Even after 13 years, it's hard to view and it's the same footage that aired on national TV, via CNN & C-Span. As a flight educator, my father Jim would want this to serve as a reminder to never fly when you are tired and/or distracted, but more importantly that no performance contract is worth risking life for. Bottom line, dad did not like to disappoint and went against his own better judgement - may others learn from this unneccessary tragedy.
There are also films of hundreds of people drowning in a sinking passenger plane, or dieing instantly on the ground, and those ones go on TV, what do you think people feel about that?
Idiotic pilot, I can't understand why they don't see that coming. It was so meant to be, and I wish it hit his idiot step children!
