  • Did the Portuguese only colonize Kona? Or other parts of Hawaii?

  • Us Portuguese love our islands. Azores, Hawaii, Phillipines, etc... I wonder if Magellan or any other Portuguese explorers knew that from the beginning...

  • Wow! My dad and my mom both talked about their grandmothers making pao doce and bolinhos in a fourno on Maui and another one in the Punchbowl area of Honolulu. They also made rolls called papos secos. I thought all of these ovens had gone out of use! Good for you guys, keeping the culture alive. I miss the Portuguese food I grew up with-the food is different here in California among the Portuguese.
