Why not just plunk down the 75$ for a proper rear wheel stand? Most have wheels so you can even move the bike when it's lifted.

hey... i am just as tight gripped with my cash as the next cheap guy... but some things you have to spend money on. and front and rear stands are one of them. i too used my jack stands... once. and only once. buy you some motorcycle stands... you wont regret it.
