I have uploaded this despite the fact that the lyrics might offend some people because I think it has cultural value as a look at the music and dance of Tumba Francesa. I don't think many people have actually heard this music or seen the dance. It developed in eastern Cuba after imigration from Haiti and clearly shows the Haitian influence in Cuban folkloric music. I find it particularly interesting that the music is so heavily Afro-Caribbean while the dance is so clearly an adaptation of what the slaves must have seen their European owners dancing.

  • Ooo that would be a bit tough. Some of it I can translate. Some of it is in French which I don't speak at all. Maybe I will see what I can do. There is a lot of stuff about "Health to my comandante" because this was when Fidel was sick but was still President.

  • a translantion would be nice... :)

  • Excelente video. El que lo encuentre ofensivo tiene la mente chiquita.

Muy similar a varios estilos de bomba puertorriqueña, también procedentes de Haití.
