a young man learned in '74 and '78 that the best and flashiest didn't always win.
but i did come to appreciate the smell of grass and coffee.
Cruyff would have blended right in and had a good time too. ; )

wow... that's so close to where i used to live (Observatory Road) and when i moved there in 78, those camps were about to be demolished for the TST east developement in the 80s... that field should've been located around the south east corner at Chatham road and Austin road .... the film quality is amazing....

The term DJ was not known in the fifties, as far as I can remember. Tiësto is our famous DJ here in Holland nowadays.

I forgot, but I suppose it was simply top commemorate the New Year. Moreover it was one of the few days that expats had a day off.
