The reception issues all over the place talking about this being an issue with the iPhone 4 isn't true. It also does this on the 3G as I show here. This is most definitely an issue with iOS4.

  • Stupid! It's worse on iPhone 4 because it completely losses the signal. But on 3G and 3GS the bar just go down but never losses the signal. Go buy yourself an iPhone 4 so you know what you're talking about!

  • @euoj I took back my black one because I want the white. I was gonna exchange it at the store if white's came in in limited quantities. However, I've played with my friends iPhone 4 in the mean time.

  • yes alot of phones have a death grip, BUT the iphone 4 can screw up the signal by just TOUCHING the bottom corner.

  • @euoj I have the 3g and it gets to the point where it says "no service" and I have to restart the device or remove and reinsert the sim card.

  • Yeah so here

  • this guy is stupid it is an issue with the hardware

  • You have problems with your carrier, these are not iOS related, so you are terribly wrong. The antenna issue can not be replicated in europe on 3G and 3GS, ask yourself why (better GSM networks and coverage).

  • whats that for a funny move between 0:18 and 0:23 ?

  • @dragngt good but i dont know why the carrier name should stay after un-JB?

  • I've got an iPhone 4 on pre-order. Meantime, I found that when I took my 3G S out of the case, the SAME THING happened -- except the antenna problem is on the lower right instead of lower left. I'm using iOS 4... I don't personally recall whether the OS upgrade matters.

I went to my AT&T store and found that all the display models completely lost their signal when my hand spanned the antenna sections.

P.S., sorry you and all of us have to put up with ill-mannered commenters like euoj.

  • What the heck are you speaking about ! Did you know the iPhone 3G had this problem when it got out (there was no ios4 at this time)... if it was an os problem, the iPhone wouldn't need your hand in order to loose reception ! The only thing is that the problem is kinda bigger on the iPhone 4. That's why this has exploded on the internet !
