@paulallen34 I have tried the sheet music route. It takes a few hours to put each piece together, but takes months of work trying to get permission from the song owner. So I've given up now.

It starts in G maj then goes up to C maj for the ending?

@daffydoug It starts in G then wanders down a couple of flats then up a couple of sharps. People watch the programme for its contents, not for its theme tune; but the theme tune gets heard hundreds of times. Theme tune writers know this and they are often bolder than other song writers because whatever they write it will be bound to gain familiarity and acceptance.

You picked up the groove on that tune perfectly. You have an excellent ear, like mine, except I can't play the piano ... well I might be able to knock out a les dawson-est version of the entertainer !

@smooth92 Thank you. Les Dawson was a very clever man. I always admired the way he could mix in just the exact level of incorrectness to give maximum comedy effect.
