  • I like it. The modern images are a little jarring as a backdrop for this poem, but they do reflect the contemporary version of the alienation expressed in the poem. And they're pretty too!

    Very nicely done. You should think about working on a visual jazz interpretation of all of Rilke's elegies. Just one quibble - "Escalator to the Gallows" is incorrect: the title of Malle's film is "Ascenseur pour l'échafaud," which means Elevator to the Gallows - as in a cage-like enclosure that moves up and down a shaft. Thanks again, I can see Rainer Maria enjoying both of your videos...somewhere.
