This anonymous strange Gigue comes from ms. A-KR L82a, fol. 18v-19r (Benediktiner-Stift Kremsmunster, Regenterei oder Musikarchiv). You can find the music, the original lute tabulature of this piece in http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/wikla/mus/11_courseLute/KremsmL82aDmajorSuite/
The instrument is 11-course baroque lute made by Lauri Niskanen 2011. Arto Wikla 7.1.2012.

  • @ludustestudinis Well, I changed the word to "strange"... Now there is also link above, where you can find the original written music, lute tabulature. I think in this piece there are some quite strange, "crazy" melody shifts and harmonic oddities etc. I actually like them. :-)
