Ms. Angela Romero, 'Romee', wanted to provide something to honor and celebrate our joy and honor at having John Olguin in our lives.

Romee placed a facebook page named: San Pedro Stands up for John Olguin.

She wanted to have just a moment of silence around John's plaque as person of the Century and then have folks celebrate quietly as the sun set over John's beloved ocean.

No speeches, no worries, no true sadness, but more of a quiet honoring of such a special person.

The video also shows one of the perigrine falcons that nest closeby. It also shows some California sea lions that john would have taught everyone about and we 'heard' his voice talking about the sea lions as we watched them. I don't know if the dolphin was there on 'porpoise' but the mammal added to the event.

After the moments of silence we all stood alongside the concrete fence at Point Fermin Park in San Pedro, California and watched the sun set over the ocean so many of us learned so much about from John.

The 'formal' public memorial for John Olguin is scheduled for June 22, 2011, beginning at 1:00 PM at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium at (John's) Cabrillo Beach.

John loved fireworks and at 5:00 we all hope to see a spectacular fireworks show honoring John.
