How to get the fruit out of a Horned Melon

I bought a horned melon at the farmer's market, and this is me extracting half of the fruit. Wikipedia says the taste is like a cucumber combined with a zucchini, which I guess is accurate. What I can tell you is that a bowl full of horned melon seed sacs smells a lot like a pile of wet grass clippings. Not a big fan of the taste myself, but it was certainly an adventure.

it's like a more bland tomato and im pretty sure you can only eat the seeds the skin is pretty rough

To me they taste like Cucumber and Banana... but it's like eating only the seeds of a cucumber... I don't like them... Now Rambutan, that is very tasty fruit!
