After a number of years spent having fun on the trucks while helping out some of the local garbos, I became employed by URM in October 2009 for school holidays, which was where the "My New Workplace" video came from. Since that first shift on a Friday, I became a fulltime worker upon leaving school and spent roughly 1 year and 7 months running with the side loaders, tackling clean-up and smashing out the units on the rear loaders, and also became involved in other special tasks and areas of operations.
Then came late October last year and it was about the time where I was after a new job and conveniently received a phone call from Watts Waste. Turns out a few good words went around and they were keen to get me aboard and see how I went - why not have a worker who actually enjoys the job of collecting garbage? So things finished up in late November with URM and on the first Sunday of December I started my first shift at Watts.
When I turned 18 I went straight for the truck licence, being eligible for an MR (medium rigid) at this point in time, which allows me to drive basically any single axle truck. The good thing about Watts Waste is that they run a decent amount of single axles, so there are a number of rear loaders, a mini hook-lift and a mini skip I can drive for the next year or so until I get my HR (heavy rigid) this coming November. Once I get my HR I'll finally get to officially enjoy the experience of driving the front loaders, larger rear loaders, then the heavy duty hook-lifts and dinos.
I do a paper and cardboard recycling run during a night shift which covers a pretty good sized area, with a good chunk of the jobs through the Sydney CBD and around the outskirts of the city. My primary truck is an old Compaction Systems / Hino which I am very happy with, just need to get the winch's speed attended to as you'll see in the video. The spare truck I use is an old MacDonald Johnston / Freightliner and the other recycling truck I get on occasionally is a Heil / Isuzu. They all have their advantages and disadvantages of course, great to have a variety available for use.
I finished up at URM doing bin deliveries for about a week in total, which was great fun and a different experience - I'm sure you bin fans are very jealous :P I was planning on getting some videos, but unfortunately my tripod shit itself, so setting the camera up was a bitch. Anyway it was time for me to move on to a different company for a number of reasons, just one of many career moves I'll be making as a garbo. It's much nicer working by myself, because I'm my own boss to an extent, don't have to worry about others and can work at my own pace. Then working at night is something much better itself; barely any traffic, much more relaxing and you don't have to deal with the flies and heat of the summer season. It's also good getting to know my way around the city, beautiful place with all the skyscrapers lit up and of course you've got all the chicks to check out! lol The best thing about this new job though, is that I can finally drive garbage trucks... legally anyway :P
You can expect plenty of videos coming from me, showing a variety of trucks, a number of the jobs I get to tackle once, twice or daily each week and there'll also be some shots of particular areas I have to get through. However, stay tuned on Superiorpakfan's channel too as he'll also be posting a fair share of videos as time goes by. This video is based on the start of the second week when I began to work solo, shown around the 11pm mark on a Sunday night.

Was the first job in the yard? and do you park the trucks on the bosses property?

@MegaDirtyHands Yep that first one was in the yard, almost an instant tick off the list :P Nah this is an actual Watts Waste depot, just a couple of other companies which use the land too.
