Timi covered this song in 1994 in Taiwan when she was 13 years old. It was first released in the album 黄梅戏经典2小调重唱 (Huang Mei Diao classics no. 2 quartet melodies) in 1994 that contained a mixture of songs from 春风妙舞 (Exquisite dance in the spring wind) and 民歌小调 (Folk ditties), recorded also that year (春风妙舞 wasn't released until 1995). The album 黄梅戏经典2小调重唱 was released in China in 1999. This song was included in the DVD called 柔情小调 (Tender Melodies) that was published in 1998.

This particular song is from a very famous scene in the well-known Chinese classic opera ballad 梁山伯与祝英台 (The Butterfly Lovers) when Zhu Ying-Tai was trying to confess her love to Liang Shan-Bo, without much success.

There have been many misconceptions about this video. The male and female parts are both sung by Timi, although another girl is lip-syncing to Timi's voice. It is easy to get confused. Just to clear up, that is not the other girl's genuine voice!

the one in front of us now is the Pheonix Mountain.

Liang: although the match-maker has verified the wedding ceremony.
有情人才能配成双
Only the ones in love can be a couple.
泥塑木雕是偶像
Carved mud and wood is a statue.
不解人间凤求凰
It does not understand the human kinds courtship of a man for a woman.

祝：梁兄哥
Zhu: Brother Liang.
他两有情又有意
They both have feelings and emotion with each other.
