I'm playing Frère Jacques in G Major, so the notes are: GABG GABG DDD DDD DEDCBG DEDCBG GDG GDG. The bass accompaniment is mostly arpeggios (broken chords) on G Major or the bass follows the melody.
Since I improvised the variation directly, I couldn't score it for you I'm afraid.

Yes I probably could, there's a challenge for me :-). Because they're so entrenched in most people's minds, doing them in minor keys would certainly sound different. I'll see what it sounds like and see if I can't post a response.
Incidentally there's a "minor" tinge to the end of Frère Jacques since the progression is G, Am, Bm as chords instead of just playing the notes G A and B.
