The XYZ 53 cc Boxer is a cute little engine. However, I had to replace the spark plugs and the carburator before it wanted to run. I used a carb from a DL-50.

Hello! Thank you for your tip; I will wait for my new plugs before running it again.

It will be used in a Sist Fw-190-D9 (scal 1/5) , and it is completely enclosed in the cowling, with plugs and all.

  • Love the improvements, be careful not to run the engine too much on the poor plugs, as it may cause fatigue in the connecting rod, the engine should run 'sweetly' on both pots so there is 'balance' to the load on the big end, bearings and crank shaft, but a pair of good quality spark plugs should fix any issues you have. Sounds wonderful when it does go, it will sound good in a large scale plane, a Sukhoi? Yak? or Corsair = 1/5 scale?
